Privacy Policy & Data Practices
Last updated: September 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information qrlama ("we", "us") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. qrlama is a QR code generator: the core tool runs entirely in your browser, and creating an account is optional.
Information we collect
Information you provide
If you create an account, we collect your email address (via our authentication provider, Supabase) and, if you choose to save a QR code, the data you entered for that code (e.g. a Wi-Fi network name, a URL, contact details) along with a label you give it. We do not require an account to generate or download QR codes.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and any advertising partners may automatically log standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and timestamps. This is used for security, diagnostics, and (where ads are shown) ad delivery.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and browser storage (localStorage):
- Essential: remembering your light/dark theme choice and keeping you signed in if you have an account.
- Advertising: if this site displays ads through Google AdSense, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can learn more and opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
You can also block or delete cookies at any time in your browser's settings. Doing so may sign you out or reset your theme preference, but the core QR generator will keep working.
How we use information
- To provide and operate the QR code generation and account features
- To keep the service secure and working correctly
- To serve and measure advertising, where shown
- To respond to support requests sent to the email below
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of third parties to run this site:
- Supabase — provides account authentication and stores saved QR code data for signed-in users.
- Google AdSense — may display ads on this site and use cookies as described above.
Your choices and rights
You can generate and download QR codes without ever creating an account or being tracked beyond standard technical logging. If you do have an account, you can delete any saved code yourself from the My Codes page at any time. To delete your account entirely, contact us at the email below and we'll remove it. Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR in the EU/UK, or CCPA in California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or export your data — contact us to exercise these.
Data retention
Account and saved-code data is kept until you delete it or ask us to delete your account. Technical logs are retained only as long as needed for security and diagnostics.
Children's privacy
qrlama is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
